These gorgeous market bags are made from the fibers of the agave cactus, also known as maguey.
The process involves spinning the fibers and carefully weaving them into these stretchable and very durable carry bags. Made and used for generations in Mexico. It takes four people to make one bag from the harvesting of the agave cactus leaves, to spinning the fibers, to weaving the bags and making the leather straps.
